Radford University and Radford University Carilion graduate student tuition and fees are set each May for the upcoming academic year. The Office of the Bursar has the most up-to-date information available for graduate students.

Grants and Scholarships




Foundation Scholarships

Foundation Scholarship Application

Substantial merit and need-based academic and athletic scholarship aid is awarded annually to currently enrolled students.

Federal Teach Grant

Radford University Teach Grant Application & FAFSA

Students must be admitted into an approved Teach Eligible Teacher Education program. Must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25. New students must score above the 75th percentile on the SAT or ACT test. Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours (5 credit hours as a graduate student).

Mary Marshall Nursing Scholarship

Application Form

May not exceed $4,000 annually. Scholarship recipients must agree to engage in full-time nursing practice in Virginia for one month for every $100 received. Must be a Virginia resident.

Some organizations offer scholarships and grants to outstanding students.

Interest rate for new borrowers is fixed at 5.6%. Fees of 1.5% may be deducted by lenders and guarantee agencies.

Student Employment




Student Employment Program

Check for available openings beginning the 2nd week of class.

Students work on campus twelve hours per week.  For the 2020 - 2021 academic year, students will earn $7.25 per hour and can work a total of 180 hours per semester or 360 hours per academic year.

Graduate Assistantships and Fellowships

Varies by program. Please contact your prgram coordinator for specific information.

Fellowships and Assistantships, valued at $4.5K - $11K for the academic year, are available to students who demonstrate potential in their selected field of study and are given primarily in recognition of academic qualifications. The student is expected to perform an average of 10 to 20 hours a week teaching, in research, administratively, or other during each 14 week semester. Financial need is not a criterion for selection. Several tuition and room scholarships are also available to Graduate Assistant recipients.

Please note: Programs offering financial aid or support may have limted funds; students applying by February 15 before the academic year in which they will be entering will receive priority consideration for funding. Some programs may require recipients to be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or in another approved status for receipt of Title IV funds. In addition, some require students to be at least 1/2 time students, in a degree-granting program, and maintaining satisfactory academic progress.
