Minors
Students earning a business minor must earn a GPA of at least 2.0 in the courses comprising the minor. At least 50 percent of the business courses required for a minor must be taken at Radford University.
Accounting Minor
The minor in Accounting consists of 18 semester hours and is open to individuals who are non-accounting majors. It is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the critical areas of accounting.

- ACTG 211 Fundamentals of Financial Accounting (3 credit hours)
- ACTG 212 Fundamentals of Managerial Accounting (3 credit hours)
- ACTG 311 Cost Accounting (Fall) (3 credit hours)
- ACTG 313 Intermediate Accounting I (Fall) (3 credit hours)
- ACTG 411 Federal Taxation (Fall) (3 credit hours)
- Any one (1) course from the following list: (3 credit hours)

Finance Minor
The minor in Finance consists of 18 semester hours and is open to individuals who are non-finance majors. It is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in financial decision making by exposing them to core topics, principles, and issues related to financial decision making, with the flexibility to tailor the student’s focus on areas of particular interest.

- Any two (2) courses with a FINC prefix (6 credit hours)

Any one (1) course with a FINC prefix plus BLAW 304 (6 credit hours)

Information Systems Minor
Using data and technology to help businesses work smarter, faster and better.
Almost every aspect of a business runs on information systems that generate data from the point of sale, inventory, customer support, and financial systems. Collecting, processing, managing, storing and delivering this data is essential to running the business well. Working knowledge of information systems helps achieve goals like increasing customer satisfaction and growing profits.
The Radford University Information Security Minor prepares students by enhancing their resume and skills with valuable skills to pursue roles including:
Systems and business analyst, Project manager, Information officer, Business intelligence, Web design, Programmer, Systems architect

Real Estate and Insurance Minor
The minor in Real Estate and Insurance consists of 18 semester hours and is open to individuals who are non-finance majors. It is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in financial decision making in real estate and insurance planning by exposing them to basic topics important to gaining and maintaining personal financial independence and building a solid financial future.
