The program offers a limited number of full tuition waivers and stipends for out-of-state students. Please contact Sean Keck, Ph.D., Graduate Program Director, or Frank Napolitano, Ph.D., GTF Mentoring Program Coordinator, for more information.
The admissions requirements page has additional information on applying for a GTF opportunity. Applications for the Graduate Teaching Fellowship Program are due by March 1 each year.
Graduate Assistantships
In addition to Graduate Teaching Fellowships, the English Department has a limited number of non-teaching Graduate Assistantships available for work in the English department and for other departments on campus. The stipend for GAs is $9,900 a year.
Travel Funding
Every year, the Graduate College provides professional development awards to help Graduate students travel to present at conferences or conduct reasearch. This year, students from our program received funding to travel both nationally and internationally to present at conferences including the American Men's Studies Association Conference; the College English Association Conference; the James Joyce Italian Foundation Conference in Rome; and the Reading and Writing in the Twenty-First Century Literary Studies Classroom Conference in Australia.
