Patricia Griffin ’58, who earned a bachelor of arts degree in education from Radford, has been a consistent giver for many years. What inspires her to give?
“I was happy at Radford and hope to pass it on to younger people,” said Griffin.
Griffin’s graduation class began the Class of 1958 Scholarship Fund as they celebrated their 40th class reunion, and she has supported the fund since its inception. Over the years, the scholarship has benefitted many students, including Griffin’s granddaughter who earned a master’s degree in social work from Radford.
“I enjoyed my years at Radford, received a great education, made life-long friends and met my husband, Jim — he was at VPI, who I was married to for 29.5 years until his death in 1988,” said Griffin. “I want to be a help to students so that they can complete their education.”
Griffin encourages fellow alumni to think about your time as a college student, what Radford did for you and pass it on to the current generation of students.
