    Radford University will celebrate winter commencement with two ceremonies at the Dedmon Center, 101 University Dr., on Dec. 9 and 10. The ceremonies include students from Radford main campus and Radford University Carilion.

    Radford University officially inaugurated Bret Danilowicz, Ph.D., as the eighth president in the 112-year history of the institution during a warm ceremony on a chilly Friday morning, Sept. 30, 2022 on the McConnell Library lawn.

    Radford University has been named a College of Distinction for 2022-2023 for its commitment to empowering students’ success through engagement, innovation and support as they follow their educational paths. Radford’s academic programs in business, education and nursing were also singled out for individual recognition, along with student support services for career development and military support.

    Retired Radford University faculty member Jerry Beasley, a ninth-degree black belt in karate and member of the Black Belt Magazine Hall of Fame, recently spoke to the With Good Reason radio program about his more than four decades of teaching self defense and a variety of martial arts at the university and the Asian martial arts minor he helped institute.

    Last month, alumni, faculty, and staff from the College of Education and Human Development, the Teaching Resources Center and the Office of University Advancement assembled approximately 240 bright red care packages for first-year CEHD students who are currently preparing for final exams.
