Finishing the Semester Strong
Dear Students:
We have officially passed the midpoint of the Fall 2020 semester in which many of you have completed midterm assignments and tests. With the release of midterm grades, I want to encourage each and every one of you to remain committed to and focused on your studies. Please know that the Harvey Center staff stand ready and willing to assist with your current courses and future needs!
Due to the global health pandemic, you and your fellow Highlanders have encountered new barriers and unanticipated challenges. Please know that the faculty and staff at Radford University are here to support you. We care deeply about you and your success. And, we encourage you to be mindful of your mental and physical health.
Please take care of yourselves and make use of the many services provided by the University. Student Counseling Services staff are available, both in person and online, to provide either individual or group support for the concerns that you may be experiencing. Let’s Talk offers walk-in hours at multiple locations across campus and throughout the week. These services are free and confidential. And, the Student Recreation and Wellness Center remains open and operational with a variety of protocols in place to keep everyone safe.
In addition to seeking University-provided programming, please support your classmates and friends. Although physical distancing remains a reality due to the pandemic, we want you to remain close in terms of collaboration and interaction. Look for creative and new ways to connect in order to support each other, while remaining safe at the same time. If you need help with ideas, RUInvolved can assist in finding ways to come together in person, through small groups, or virtually.
Highlanders are known for being caring and compassionate, as well as strong and supportive. Do not forget that your fellow Highlanders are with you on this exciting journey and cheering you on every step of the way, both this semester and moving forward!
With Highlander Pride,
Brian O. Hemphill, Ph.D.
President
