Traditions Week 2023 was a wild success! I hope that your Highlander was engaged in the weeklong celebration and took time to reflect on what this year has meant to them. Counting the wins is so important to developing resilience and the courage to continue moving forward, even when things are difficult. And thanking those who have impacted your journey is a skill that we should all practice and affirm. Your Highlander enjoyed a spectacular time at these special events. Residence Hall and University Apartments - Closing May 2023
By Friday, May 5, 2023 at 5:00pm
- All campus housing – residence halls and apartments – will close on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 5:00pm
- All residential students should plan to move out of campus housing within 24-hours of their last final exam or by 5:00pm on Friday, May 5, 2023
- Students actively participating in Spring Commencement on Saturday, May 6, 2023 will need to complete an extended stay request and need to checkout by 12:00pm on Sunday, May 7, 2023
Checkout Process
- On April 12, 2023, residents will receive building-specific instructions via email
- In general, to check out, residents will need to:
- Remove all belongings, clean their room, and reset any university furniture
- Contact an RA who will be on-call or in the lobby
- Staff will complete the closing room condition form with the resident
- Once they return their room keys to staff, the resident is all set!
- We will also have an express checkout option for residents in extenuating circumstances
We strongly recommend students check out in-person. Choosing to use express checkout waives the ability to appeal damage billing.

Highlander Pantry Update
In an ideal world there would be no need for food pantries, but Radford University recognizes that a need does exist and has developed the Highlander Pantry.
The Highlander Pantry is available to all members of the Highlander family - students, faculty or staff offering discreet access to free food items.
- Located in Heth 243
- Hours are:
- Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 7 p.m.
- Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m.
- Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5 to 6:30 p.m.
- Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon and 3 to 5:30 p.m.
- Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 to 7 p.m.
- Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
- Individuals can also come to the Dean of Students Office anytime Monday - Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for access to the Pantry. Note: The Pantry is not open when the University is closed.
