Message to RUC Faculty and Staff from Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Joseph P. Scartelli, Ph.D.

Dear RUC Faculty and Staff:

Please be advised that Carilion Clinic is continuing with extensive planning in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of a contingency plan, Carilion is currently assessing the possible utilization of Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital for an additional intensive care unit. Carilion staff are visiting individual offices and spaces on the 9th and 10th floors to determine the feasibility for this preliminary planning. At this time, no decisions have been made, and no relocations are occurring. As planning moves forward, we pledge to keep you informed of any disruptions in office assignments and modified operations due to emerging needs.
