Message to Students

Dear Students:

As you prepare to depart campus for Spring Break, please be advised that Radford University, as well as local, state, national and international entities, are closely monitoring the COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) outbreak that began in China. This is an ongoing issue and a rapidly evolving outbreak at the global level.

In an effort to share information about COVID-19, the University created a webpage, which is available at www.radford.edu/coronavirus.  The webpage provides a great deal of information, including current travel advisories in which individuals are encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel with restrictions in place for certain areas.

All travelers are encouraged to think carefully about any planned travel, especially internationally, and assess the risks both of their destination(s) and traveling through domestic and international areas where the virus has been confirmed.  For additional information regarding travel advisories and restrictions, visit https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories.html/ and https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/index.html.

For national information and monitoring of COVID-19, visit the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/.  According to information posted by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), there are no confirmed cases in Virginia.  For additional information about COVID-19 and the Commonwealth of Virginia, visit the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) website at http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/surveillance-and-investigation/novel-coronavirus/.

This is a time in which we are all concerned about the well-being of our families and loved ones, as well as our community.  As such, please encourage fellow members of the campus community to become informed about COVID-19.

Sincerely,

Susan
